Tips for taking a charter fishing trip
All fishing tackle and equipment is provided including bait. Life jackets
are available in case of emergency. Children under the age of 12 are
required to wear life jackets. I have them aboard but please bring your own
for your child’s comfort. Coffee and ice water is provided aboard. However,
you may want to bring additional food and drink. For safety reasons, alcohol
is discouraged.
Please dress for the weather; it is cooler on the water than it is on land.
Wear clothing in layers. It is coldest in the mornings and you may remove
layers, as it gets warmer during the day. Don’t forget to bring a warm
jacket. A stocking hat or scarf to block the wind is also recommended.
Please wear sensible shoes such as tennis shoes. Wearing sandals or flip
flops are not practical and can be dangerous.
The Reel Nauti has a restroom and cabin but when you are fishing you will
want to be out on the decks to catch all the action. You will also need a
fishing license. One day fishing licenses with a salmon/halibut tag are
available on board. The cost for this is $12.00. In addition to a fishing
license, shellfish licenses are also required if you are crabbing and can be
purchased for $9.00. Cash only for licenses, please.
To help avoid sea sickness always get a good nights sleep the night before
your trip. Eating a light breakfast will also help. If you are prone to sea
sickness you may want to wear acupressure bands or take Bromine. Please
follow the instructions on the box for the best results. Last, bring a smile
and a good sense of humor! Fish on!
In most cases, a credit card
is required to hold the reservation. Cancellations for fishing trips under 8
hours, requires a 24 hour notice. Halibut and Tuna trips require a 72 hour
notice. Credit cards will be charged 1 /2 of the price of the trip, per
person for cancellations not meeting the above policy.
